Helen Farabee Regional MHMR Centers offer the following array of services specially designed to meet the needs of persons with mental retardation:

- In-Home and Family Support
- Residential Programs
- Home & Community Based Services
- Vocational Training
- Supported Employment
- Respite Services
- Psychological and Nursing Services
- In Home Training
- Day Habilitation Services
All services are based on the individual's needs and choices and are structured to help the person become as independent and productive as possible.
Services are available to anyone living within the 19-county service area who meets eligibility guidelines for receiving mental retardation services through the Department of Aging and Disability Services system. Services are available without discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex or disability. Charges are based on the individual's (or, in some cases, the family's) income, with no one being denied services due to an inability to pay.

Health & Mental Retardation Services Centralized Intake Office at
1-800-669-4166. The intake coordinator
will be happy to discuss available services and arrange for a
personal visit to begin the intake and evaluation process. Intake
staff can also arrange for a guided tour of the nearest mental
retardation service site. Service sites are located in the following
North Texas towns:

- Haskell
- Vernon
- Wichita Falls
